Three days a week we organize a cultural inside and outside activity - programme such as walks through the town, visits to museums, routes visiting typical bars, concerts, cinema club, goings to other towns and trips by Jeep throughout Sierra Morena with the possibility to take photos of wild animals. We also offer the possibility to take part in lessons of Sevillanas and Flamenco, as well as riding-lessons. NOTE: The participation in this activities is optional and free, except the tickets of museums, cinemas, concerts and the transport.
April: *Semana Santa: The Easter Week features 60 stages of the cross throughout the city in 32 processions, complete with nazarenes, pentitens, and orange-blossom and incense aromas. A great spectacle with a religious and festive sense (the lessons will continue till Good Friday). May: *First week: CRUCES DE MAYO. It is a popular festival where the neighbours and circle of friends put big crosses of flowers in public squares and other strategic points of Cordova, nearby and around it all the people dance Sevillanas , sing, drink and eat. *2nd week: CATA DEL VINO: All the wine-growers of the province come to this wine-festival offering different kinds of wine which can be tasted. ROMERIAS: During this month many people go on pilgrimages throughout SierraMorena by fantastic floats, riding and / or walking (very popular and colourful). BATALLA DE LAS FLORES: It is a real battle where some people standing inside of spring decorated floats throw out thousand of flowers to the pedestrians who throw them back. *3rd week: CONCURSO DE PATIOS CORDOBESES: The courtyards of typical houses situated principally in the old part of the town are decorated by their owners with flowers and antiquity things and are opened to the public for people to come in and see them. Afterwards this courtyards take part in the competition of the nicest courtyard of the year. *4th week: FERIA DE CÓRDOBA: It is the last and biggest festival which takes place on the last week of the month .The people of Cordova turn to it riding and wearing typical clothes. There are hundred of sideshouws in which the people can drink, eat and dance Sevillanas. |
